Waqrapukara Trek one day Itinerary
Synonym: Cusco – Acomayo – Waqrapukara – Cusco
Our journey commences at 3:00 am, as we embark on the Waqrapukara Peru tour. After a 2.5-hour drive, we reach the Acomayo province, where we’ll revel in the beauty of four stunning lagoons. Following this scenic stop, we proceed for another 30 minutes to Qenterococha Lagoon (4,330 meters or 14,138 feet), where a delightful breakfast awaits. Post our hearty meal, we kick off our hike to Waqrapukara, taking the time to observe the local flora and wildlife along the way.
Upon reaching this remarkable destination, we’ll take a moment to rest before embarking on an exploration led by your guide. Of course, you’ll also have the opportunity to wander and discover the area on your own following the guided tour. We savor our box lunch while taking in the breathtaking vistas from the Apurimac River viewpoint. After the meal, we commence our return journey but opt for a different, easier route, offering alternative views of the Apurimac Canyon and its abysses. At around 4:00 pm, we arrive back at the trailhead, where our private van awaits us. We anticipate returning to Cusco by approximately 6:00 pm
