Andean community Cusco & Hacienda Lambarry

Today at 08:30 am, you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco city and transferred to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, on route visit Pisaq archeological site and its colorful market, where you will have free time to interact with the local craftsmen, or purchase their hand made souvenirs. Then for an immersion into the heart of the Andean culture you visit the charming Amaru community and its wonderful and amazing people. Straight from the hands of local craftspeople, you learn about textiles and the weaving process. The vivid colors of the Amaru villager’s clothing are derived from Natural dyes made from plants and other organic elements with which they decorate wool. On this tour you learn about the cochineal red and the secrets properties of some other medicinal plants in the área.

 

After our visit to the local community, our staff is gonna drive us to our lunch spot in the Sacred Valley. Lunch at Casa Hacienda Orihuela, this is a private residence with an impressive collection of Inca and colonial art, and artifacts, where the Lambarri Orihuela family will be your host. In the afternoon you visit Ollantaytambo, a still thriving Inca village set bellow an ancient Inca fortress and temple with stunning views over the valley taht make you feel as if you have stepped back into the 15th century. At the end of our full day trip we will tarvel back to cusco city.
