The tour continues to the imposing ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay, ancient sites of the Incas.

CITY TOUR CUSCO ITINERARY

09:00 This morning our visit to Cusco begins with the local market of San Pedro, a vibrant place in a busy area of the city that can keep you entertained for hours. Here you will see firsthand how the locals live their day-to-day lives, outside the confines of Cusco’s tourist areas. As you observe the scene, you will hear the language as it is spoken and pronounced correctly, see the gestures and habits that are common to Andean culture, smell the aromas of local produce and flora, absorb the styles and texture of local fashion, see the fruits, vegetables and meats that make up the main staples of traditional meals.

Next, your guide will take you to visit Cusco’s main attractions. You will start with a visit to the Santo Domingo Monastery, the legendary Koricancha (Temple of Gold), the most important Inca temple dedicated to the worship of the Sun, whose walls used to be plated with gold leaf. Later, you will stop at the Plaza de Armas, where the Main Cathedral of Cusco is located. It continues to the neighborhood of San Blas with a walk through this picturesque neighborhood and one of the best views of the city. In this neighborhood you will find the workshops and stores of Cusco’s most renowned artisans, such as Mendevil, Meredi, Rojas and Palomino.

In the afternoon, you will visit the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, an imposing example of Inca military architecture that dominates the city. Finally, you will visit the archaeological sites of Qenko, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay located northeast of the city.
