Tipping in Peru, it is customary – but not obligatory or mandatory to give tips to service staff in gratitude and thanks for excellent service. Tipping can be increased or decreased depending on the level of service you are given. Tour guides, porters, drivers, hotel staff or people that provides services to travelers are definitely hopeful of receiving tips.   • Porter – S/8 to S/15 per day (USD $3 to 4 USD)
  • Cook – S/10 to S/15 per day (USD $3 to 5 USD)
  • Tour guide – S/10 to S/25 per day (USD $6 to 8 USD)
  • Bus Drivers – 10 Soles per day (USD $3)
  • Tour guide, porter and cook staff in private service should be tipped a few more.
