PERU ITINERARY 10 DAYS - LIMA - AREQUIPA - PUNO - CUSCO

This 10-day itinerary describes the activities per day in each place during our travelers’ stay in Peru. Bigfoot Machu Picchu can arrange this according to your budget and preference. We can book hotels from 3 to 5 stars, book the most convenient domestic flights, tour guides, train tickets, and all entrance fees for each archaeological site. We can also organize meals such as lunches and dinners during your activities or stay in our country. During these 10 days in Peru Bigfoot Machu Picchu will take care of your travel program. Day 1 – Arrival in Lima, Peru.

Welcome to Peru! Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your comfortable hotel to relax.

Depending on your preferences and price, we will be happy to recommend Lima’s best dining and shopping options.

Day 2 – Lima – Arequipa

Transfer from your hotel to the airport in Lima; board your flight to Arequipa. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Arequipa. The afternoon will be dedicated to explore Arequipa, also known as the white city; our visit includes the main square, the Yanahuara viewpoint, the town of Sachaca, the Balneareo de Tingo and the Sabandia Mill.

Day 3 – Arequipa – Colca Canyon

After breakfast, transportation will pick you up from your hotel to start our journey by land to the Colca Canyon. On the way you will visit Pampa Cañahuas, and gain more altitude 3400 meters, the geological landscape is very interesting due to the formations of inactive volcanoes, you finally arrive to Chivay, the most populated town in the Colca Canyon, check in at your hotel. In the afternoon you could enjoy a relaxing bath in the lovely hot springs of La Calera.

Day 4 – Colca – Puno

Today we will leave the hotel very early in the morning, we will drive along the left side of the Canyon until the condor crossing, where you will be able to see the Andean Condor, you will also have the opportunity to appreciate the impressive depth of the canyon. We continue our trip to Puno where we will spend the night.

Day 5 – Puno

After breakfast, you will venture out on the highest navigable lake in the world to the island of the Uros and enjoy the local artificial islands and learn about the local culture. Your first day of exploring Lake Titicaca will take you to the floating islands of the Uros, where local families build not only their homes but also boats and entire islands of reeds. Next, you will visit the natural island of Taquile, this is one of the largest islands and you will get up close and personal with its incredible, mostly artisans.

Day 6 – Puno – Cusco

At an appropriate time our transportation will pick you up and take you to the city of Cusco. En route you will enjoy the magnificent scenery dominated first by the plains where you can see llamas and alpacas and then the mighty Andean mountains as you approach Cusco. Lunch en route. Arrival and accommodation at your hotel.

Day 7 – Private Sacred Valley Tour

Your tour of the Sacred Valley will include the Alpaca farm, the weaving market of Chincheros, the ancient agricultural terraces of Moray, the salt mines of Maras and the ruins and village of Ollantaytambo. You will also see how guinea pigs are raised in the area.

Leaving Ollantaytambo, enjoy a scenic train ride through the Sacred Valley to the town of Machu Picchu, where you will stay at your hotel in Aguas Calientes.

Day 8 – Machu Picchu Private Tour

Discover the secrets of Machu Picchu during a guided tour of this Inca citadel, you will visit the most important parts of the ruins to learn how and why they were built. After the tour, you will have time to continue exploring for a short time.

Leaving Machu Picchu Pueblo, enjoy a scenic train ride to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival at the train station, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 9 – Full Day Cuzco City Tour

During the day we will visit the most important of Cusco, the capital of the Inca empire, we will visit the market of San Pedro, the 4 nearby ruins, these are Inca complexes with impressive stonework; Koricancha, one of the most important Inca temples (the walls were in his days covered with gold) and the Cathedral of Cusco where you will learn about the art Ecuela of Cusco.

Day 10 – Cusco to Lima

You will be picked up at your hotel and taken to Cusco airport for your domestic flight to Lima.
