Day 1
Cusco → Sacred Valley → Aguas Calientes

Meet your licensed guide at your Cusco hotel and travel into the Sacred Valley of the Incas, surrounded by Andean villages, agricultural terraces and mountain scenery.

Visit Chinchero and the home of master weaver Nilda Callañaupa for an educational demonstration of wool spinning, natural dyes, traditional patterns and Andean weaving techniques.

Explore Moray’s concentric terraces, where the Incas used changing microclimates to experiment with and adapt crops to different ecological zones.

Cross the Maras plateau, see the historic stone-fronted houses and visit the centuries-old salt ponds that are still harvested by local families.

Enjoy the included lunch at Wayra Restaurant or the confirmed equivalent in the Sacred Valley.

Continue to Ollantaytambo for a guided visit to its monumental terraces, temples and remarkably preserved Inca town.

Walk to Ollantaytambo station and board the evening Expedition train. Arrive in Aguas Calientes at approximately 20:45, check in at El MaPi or a similar hotel and enjoy dinner.

After breakfast at the hotel, take the shuttle bus at around 06:00 to the entrance of Machu Picchu.

Explore the principal temples, terraces and hidden corners of the UNESCO World Heritage citadel with your guide for approximately two hours and thirty minutes, following the circuit assigned to your ticket.

Ride the bus back to Aguas Calientes, check out of the hotel and enjoy the included lunch at Cafe Inkaterra before the return journey.

Board the afternoon Expedition train to Ollantaytambo. Your driver will meet you at the station for the road transfer to your Cusco hotel, arriving at approximately 18:00.
