Cusco to Machu Picchu Pueblo and in-person ticket assistance

Meet your driver at the confirmed pickup point in Cusco, Ollantaytambo or Urubamba and travel to Ollantaytambo Station for the early train toward Machu Picchu Pueblo.

Follow the Urubamba River through the Sacred Valley as farmland and high Andean slopes gradually transition into the lush cloud forest surrounding Machu Picchu.

Meet the local representative and continue to the official ticket office. Present your original passport and purchase an available entrance ticket for the following day. Assistance is provided, but availability, circuit and entrance time cannot be guaranteed.

Check in or leave your luggage at Hatun Inti Classic or a similar hotel, subject to room readiness. Later, meet your guide for a briefing about the next day’s entrance time, assigned circuit and practical arrangements.

Guided Machu Picchu visit and return to Cusco

After breakfast, take the shuttle bus from Machu Picchu Pueblo to the sanctuary. The departure time is coordinated around the official entrance time assigned during the previous day’s purchase.

Explore the terraces, temples and finely fitted stone structures with your licensed guide while learning how the Inca citadel was planned, built and used. The exact route depends on the circuit printed on your ticket.

Return by shuttle bus and enjoy free time for lunch, a walk through town or a relaxed break before making your way to the train station.

Board the panoramic Vistadome service to Ollantaytambo. Meet the representative on arrival at approximately 8:05 p.m. and continue by road to your Cusco hotel, arriving around 10:00 p.m. depending on traffic and rail operations.

Each traveler must appear personally with the original identity document used for the purchase. The available circuit and entrance time are assigned according to remaining inventory and may differ from your preference. Train numbers, schedules, hotel assignment and guiding times may change because of operator availability and local conditions.
