The experience
Trade city noise for three immersive days at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion, a rainforest retreat reached by canoe along the Madre de Dios River. Walk through primary and secondary forest, watch the Amazon change at twilight and journey into Tambopata National Reserve to explore Lake Sandoval by canoe. The experience continues high above the forest floor on the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway, across the palm swamp of the Anaconda Walk and after dark on a guided search for nocturnal wildlife. Comfortable lodge stays and thoughtfully paced excursions make this a rewarding introduction to the Peruvian Amazon without losing the sense of discovery that begins the moment you leave Puerto Maldonado.
